Happy Valentine's Day

Since my birthday is just 5 days before Valentine's Day, we usually avoid the big crowds on the 14th and go out for a nice night out on the 9th and then do a family thing on the 14th. At home. It's a win-win really!

Evelyn was SO excited for Valentine's Day this year, mostly because there was a party at school. I was so proud of her for doing all of her classmates' valentine cards BY HERSELF. All 34, including a special hand made one for her teacher. She brought home a lot of cards and some other treats and thoroughly enjoyed her day at school.

We got the kids t-shirts and a small gift (NO candy!!) that was on their place mat when they came to breakfast. Both the kids made Doug cards and got him his usual "gift", Twizzlers (one of his favorites). We got Red Robin take out and had a fun evening at home together. Sadly, I didn't get any photos. Sigh...

I did get one picture of my sweets, tho... enjoy!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I chose to step in here...

Wow...

I am REALLY trying hard to let Evelyn pick her clothes for school, even if it looks a bit non-matchy. That is difficult for me, but I know it is important.. and I know (well, I hope anyway) that this will get better as she gets bigger!

BUT.. I did put my foot down on the outfit above. It was just too much. She protested a bit but did change. Meaning she took the skirt off and put leggings on. I let her keep the socks on.

I know she will thank me. Someday.

Atlas Mae

My best friend Jody got a new puppy yesterday. Altas Mae, a schnauzer, who is the cutest thing. We got to be one of her first visitors after she was home.

The kids did pretty well with her, but Atlas IS a puppy and likes to jump and nip at you, and both Evelyn and Matthew don't like that too much. They prefer to just sit on the couch and watch Atlas for now, but I am sure as Altas grows and settles a but, they will too!

Looking forward to fun times with this sweet little puppy!
