Beach Memories

We got out of town for a few days and headed to the beach for some fun family time. As it is every time we go away, we come back rested and craving more time away!! Here is a photo recap of our trip to Lincoln City!

Day One:
We hadn't even checked into the hotel and the kids were on the beach! We spent the whole afternoon at the beach enjoying this beautiful place!

 "I love the ocean!!"

 Me and my girl...

 Taking it all in...

 Daddy and his favorite kids!

The kids actually played IN the water this year.. a first for both. Both Doug and I tried to impress upon them the power of the ocean and how we need to be careful. They were pretty good and I think they both still have a healthy fear of the waves. Needless to say we all got soaked more than once on this trip.. and didn't mind one bit!!

Let's just say they LOVED it!

 Burying mommy's feet!

Per vacation tradition.. TV dinners the first night!

Day 2
After a somewhat rough night  (Matthew had a hard time falling asleep in a strange place) we got our tired selves up and headed back to the beach for more fun!

 My cutie on the climb!

 Creating a masterpiece!

Speaking of masterpieces... I think she is one of God's finest!

After a family nap, we headed south to our favorite beach, Gleneden Beach, for the afternoon. It was a glorious and HOT afternoon and we had a great time romping around! I didn't get many pictures, however. Too busy chasing the kids. Evelyn and I went to chase waves and we got caught by a sneaker. Thankfully I took the brunt of it trying to protect her, but we both got completely soaked and she was completely frightened, poor thing. She was fine later, but she now understands even more the power of the ocean! The kids took turns getting wet sand to build stuff and we also watched some young kids boogie board, which both my kids found fascinating!

After playing we hiked up back to the picnic area and bbq'd up some dinner and played around. It was a nice way to end the day!

 My loves...

We saw two different bunnies hopping around.. the kids loved that!

I brought supplies to make s'mores this year. The kids have never had them, and they were quite the hit!!

 Enjoying the oooey gooey goodness!!

Matthew doesn't like being messy.. but he did okay with this!

Matthew LOVES soccer, as is quite good at kicking the ball and dribbling. He and Evelyn spent quite a while playing around while Doug and I cleaned up dinner.

I love this picture... they were both laughing so hard!

 Peek-a-Boo!

 Happy Campers!

 Happy Mommy and Daddy!

Day 3
We checked out of the hotel and spent the morning on the beach. Then we headed into Taft to have lunch at Mo's before heading home.

We gave the sea gulls our extra hot dog buns... we were surrounded!!

Matthew trying to talk to them!

Doug grabbed the camera and took some shots of me and the kids... this doesn't happen very often! I usually am the photographer! Thanks, babe!

Evelyn coloring and writing down her and Matthew's names by what they wanted to eat!

Another amazing time away with my family. I am so thankful for them!

Our Anniversary

Doug and I celebrated 11 years of marriage last Saturday. I can't be more grateful and thankful to have him as my partner in crime! He is the best of the best, and I am one lucky lady to call him my husband!!

We went to dinner at decarli, and fun new upscale restaurant in old downtown Beaverton, just a few minutes from our house. We had a lovely dining experience. Good drinks, good service, amazing food. We will be back for sure!

Cheers to us!

We then headed up to the Rose Gardens to walk around. It was a lovely night and there was lots of beautiful flowers to be seen and fun people to be watched. It was nice to just sit and be still.. together!

 Enjoying the time together!

Here's to many happy years ahead!!
