Mom.... What Can We Do????

Today I heard "I'm bored!" and "Mom.. what can I do?" way too many times.

So I did something about it.

The kids were sent out to wash my car inside and out.

They weren't exactly thrilled, but understood that they were the ones who were asking for something to do.

They did a great job, and actually had a fun time doing it!

Hopefully they learned something today. If not, I'm going to make a list for things that they can do next time the opportunity is presented..haha!!

Memorial Day

We headed back down to Dallas today for our annual grave clean up before Memorial Day. It is always a fun family time with the whole Morris clan.

At grandma and grand dad's... waiting for everyone else to arrive.

Time with cousins is always the best time!
Lily (6) was super helpful this year. So proud of her!

Many hands make light work....
Great Aunt Mary is the best!!

I try to get a "cousin" photo every year. Mitchell was missing this year due to having too much homework, so I didn't try too hard to get the perfect pic. At least I had willing participants! :)

Picnics are the best!

We ended as usual with a picnic at the park and enjoyed good food and company.

Thankful for those who have gone before us, both family and those who fought for my family!!

Happy Memorial Day! God Bless America!

Mother's Day

What a privilege to be a mom!! Evelyn and Matthew are two of my greatest gifts from the Lord and I pray every day to be the best mom I can be.. for them!

Mother's Day started early for me! Since we had family plans today, Doug and the kids took me to Pepita's for dinner for a yummy mexican feast.

Not much better than a Pepita's margarita!!

Love my crew!

The kids made me a flower vase. They cut, glued, nailed, painted it with Doug's help. Such a thoughtful gift!!

It had pretty flowers in it, too!
Matthew's card for me... so sweet!

Today we drove down to Dallas to see Doug's mom. My mom and her Doug are currently on a cross country RV journey so we sadly didn't get to see them. My mother-in-law had hip replacement surgery about a month ago and we are so thrilled she is recovering so well. We drove to the park to walk around and visit with them.

Skipping rocks...

My beautiful girl, in her happy place near the water

Precious boy of mine...how I love you!

The kids are so fortunate to have two amazing grandmothers!!
In HIS happy place... climbing anywhere!

We had a lovely time with them!

Happy Mother's Day!

Bye Bye Spruce Tree

The giant blue spruce tree in the corner of our backyard came down yesterday!! It was a mammoth of a tree and the power company would come and chop it every so often (and do a horrible job of it, I might add) to keep it out of the wires. Every summer it would drop leaves into the pool (spiders too) and we have talked about taking it down for quite a while. After negotiating with the power company's tree people, they came and took it down... for free!! They didn't want to have to keep pruning it so it was better for them to just get rid of it! Yay!

Final photos of the tree... the kids were a bit sad to see it go but they will be fine! :)

Down it comes!

All that's left! We will need to have someone come grind out the stump but everything else was cleaned up well.
Where'd the tree go?

I am not a fan of these smiles... they both do it to get a rise out of me. Stinkers!!

Bye Bye tree... thanks for the memories! :)
