Spring Break Fun

Spring break 201  in the books and it was a good one! For one, we all stayed healthy, which is a first for us in many a spring break. We enjoyed resting, hanging around home and doing some fun things.

The weather was great so the kids and I did something I've wanted to do for a long time... walk across the Tillikum Crossing Bridge! We had the best time!

Love hanging out with these two!!

Doug took a day off Thursday and we drove down to see his parents for a bit then headed to the Evergreen Aviation Museum. We really enjoyed this place the last time we were here and decided to visit again.

Lots of fun had together seeing some really cool stuff!!

Two friends... on a perfect day! :) Ellie came over for a visit. Actually both her and her brother stayed the night and the kids had so much fun! (I just didn't get any photos...sad!

We went to the Nike store on Friday and the kids saw this cool car. Definitely a highlight for them both!

It was a full and fun week. Thankful good weather, good time together and for my sweet babies...

Braces - Phase 2

When Evelyn got her braces off two years ago, we knew that once she lost the rest of her baby teeth she would be re-evaluated for "phase two" of her orthodontic journey. Well... she lost all of her baby teeth this past year, so.. it was time.

And today, she got a full set of braces (more than the 6 brackets she had on top last time). And again, she was a champ.

One last photo before we head to Dr. Walker's office.

Since it was spring break and I couldn't find a friend for Matthew to play with while I was with Evelyn, he got to come with us. We did the best we could to pass time while Evelyn was getting her braces on. He, too, was a good sport.
Look at her! Isn't she the cutest?
I made good on my promise and got her a strawberry cream from Starbucks after her appointment!

She will need to wear this set of braces for 2 years. She is sore already and not looking forward to this for the next couple of years, but I know she'll do great and I, too, look forward to when she gets them off!! Love her so!!

Portland Youth Philharmonic Field Trip

Matthew and the 3rd graders got to go on a fun field trip today. They went downtown to!! the Schnitz to see the Portland Youth Philharmonic. I was so fortunate to be able to chaperone.

My group of kiddos for the day
They were so excited!

Thankful for good friends for my sweet boy! Noe and Torren are so great!
Most of the kids have never been here or to any fancy theater for that matter. It was fun to see their awe of this beautiful place.

The music was amazing and the kids had a great time. I am so fortunate to be able to do things like this with Matthew!

Band Rocks

Evelyn finished her second session of the Band Rocks program tonight. It has been such a great experience for her and I know her Oboe playing has improved a great day with the help this program gave her. Tonight the kids put on a small concert for us to show what they have been working on.

Jenn.. Ellie's mom and a good friend. I am so thankful for her!
Evelyn doing her thing... she really plays so well!
These two girlies are pretty great.. I am glad they have each other!!

Evelyn is already looking forward to doing the advanced Band Rocks program next year!

Girls Day

Evelyn had conferences the past two days so she didn't have school. We decided to make a girls day out of today and invited her friend Ellie along. We had lots of fun and I loved my girl time with the girls!

First stop: Ava Roasteria for a fun treat.
Ready to roll!
The girls wanted to go to IKEA SO badly so off we went. It was fun to walk around with them and remind myself why I love this place so much!
Testing out the outdoor furniture

After IKEA we headed to Chipoltle for lunch

Love these two!
Next stop: The Vault, a vintage dress shop in old town Beaverton. It is one of Evelyn's favorite places and she was excited to show Ellie.
They had fun trying on stuff and looking WAY too grown up!

Girls day ended with Boba tea! They thought it was so hip and fun.. and yummy too!

The fun day wore my sweet girl out.. and apparently it wore Bodie out too...HA!

Such a day with the girls. I love them both and hope they enjoyed it as much as I did!
