Senior Pics

It's hard to believe Evelyn will be a SENIOR this year. Today she met up with her friend Heidi for senior pictures (Heidi's mom took them).

Beach Trip 2024

 

We snuck away for a long weekend at the beach and it was just what we needed!!

The kids took full advantage of the chill weekend... or were they just hiding from mom's camera? HA!

The weather wasn't awesome but it wasn't bad, so we got one long evening walk in..

Matthew made sure to get a beach workout in... of course!

When we went to Astoria last month, Matthew REALLY wanted to bring home a menu from Pig N Pancake. He politely asked but was told no. He was determined to get one next time were were at a PNP. 

SUCCESS!! He was so excited! 

Grateful for a fun time away with my three favorites!!

Power Outage Fun!

 Our electric company had to do some maintenence today and we had a scheduled power outage. They couldn't guarantee how long it would be out. Since Doug works from home, he couldn't work. We decided to make the most of it and took a day trip to Astoria to bum around for the day. 

We got to Astoria and stopped at Pig N Pancake for lunch. 

Matthew REALLY wanted to take a menu home  and actually did the right thing and asked. He was bummed he got a firm "no" but we had some good laughs over it and Matthew is already planning a menu robbery next time we are at a P & P...haha!

We then went up to the Astor Column and enjoyed the view. 

We ended our time in Astoria by going to The Goonies house. If you know, you know!

(The kids had actually not seen the movie, so they watched it on the drive over..)

What a super fun family day... filled my heart for sure!

Last Day of School!!

 

They did it!! 

Today was the last day of school for my 8th grader and junior!

I love these two so much and excited for our summer adventures!!

Matthew's 8th Grade Celebration

 

Matthew had his 8th grade celebration this morning. It seems like the past three years have flown by, and I can't believe he is going to be in high school next year!

At the same time, the growth I have seen in Matthew the past 3 years is noteworthy. Physical growth, emotions growth, academic growth... he has blossomed in middle school and I love seeing who the Lord is growing him into.

Matthew's Final Band Concert

 

Matthew had his last Middle School Band concert tonight. He loves playing trombone and has grown a ton as a musician, both with his trombone AND his bass guitar.

This is Rowan. He is a sophmore in high school and an AMAZING and well accomplised musician. He volunteerd to lead the jazz band this year and let me tell you, he did such a great job! Matthew respects and likes him a lot and I am thankful for his encouragment and knowledge. He gave Matthew the "most dependable and most encouraging" award for Jazz band tonight, which made us proud. 

Grateful for band, and how it impacted BOTH Evelyn and Matthew in middle school.
