More Cousin Time...

My sister and her kids came over today and we took a walk to the park. It was such a gorgeous fall day! We had a blast.. all of us!

Cousin Time

It has been so fun lately to watch Evelyn and her cousin Cole play together. They are only 41/2 months apart in age (Cole is older). They both get SO excited to see each other these days and will actually play together for good chunks of time, too, not just the usual parallel play. Yesterday my sister came over and Evelyn and Cole were playing peek-a-boo thru the a hole in the play structure outside. They were both laughing so hard.. it was SO sweet! The pics aren't the best.. they both are movers and shakers so it was hard to get anything good.. but you can get an idea!



I am so glad Evelyn has Cole for a cousin!! We love him and ALL of the cousins!!

The Great Pumpkin

As I have mentioned before, both Doug and I aren't really halloween people. However, we still love a trip to the pumpkin patch every fall. I am not sure why, but we didn't go last year. So this year we made certain to take Evelyn out on her first pumpkin adventure. It was a glorious day today, in many ways.. but especially when it came to the weather! So.. off we went!

Here's where we went. Right off Roy Rogers Road in Sherwood. I prefer Sauvie Island, but this was closer and just as fun!

We stayed out there most of the afternoon just letting her run around the farm. Needless to say she went to bed really easy tonight! :)

Happy Fall!!

I am a happy girl!

I have blogged before about how Evelyn hasn't liked ANYTHING in her hair... for most of her life! I am not a real "girlie girl", but I have so wanted to be able to "play" with her hair from time to time and have her like it, not pitch a fit and just tolerate it like she usually does. Thankfully she has lately been keeping ribbons in her hair... that is HUGE! Then, today it happened:

Evelyn asked me to put "cips" (clips) in her hair this afternoon!

"Mommy, put 'kip' hair 'pitty'?" is what she specifically said. So I had her pick out barrettes (she wanted yellow), she brought me her comb and let me put them in. She stood in front of the mirror and was just beside herself with joy! It was so sweet! Then I asked if I could take some pictures, and she said yes! AMAZING!





I think I to work on my styling skills, but regardless....

I am a happy girl!!

Thanks for the cute shirt, Jody! We aren't too big on Halloween at our house, but cute stuff like this is fun! Bring on pumpkin candles, pumpkin bread, and of course, pumpkin spice latte's! Summer, I will miss you, but....YAY for fall!

Daddy's Sugar Plum

Evelyn had SO much fun hanging out with her dad last week (he took the week off)! She just LOVES her daddy do much.. and he loves her. He has called her his "sugar plum" since she was born. She now says it, "daddy's sugar plum" in a very sweet voice. Here are some daddy/Evelyn moments from last week...

Their relationship is so precious! We were a bit concerned about how she would do this week, particularly Monday when he went back to work. Thankfully, she did fine and got back into the swing of our usual routine. She sure is glad to see him when he comes home, tho!!

Monday Monday

It's kind of a quiet and lonely Monday here. Both Evelyn and I are under the weather battling colds, and Doug is back to work after taking last week off. The time went by so quickly.. too quickly! We miss having him around already! We both are so thankful for him!! I will post more about our week later.. Evelyn will be up from her nap shortly and I want to at least post some pics from last week. These shots were taken on the Western Oregon Univ. campus, where we had lunch with Grand-dad last week (he works there). She was mostly looking at my mom-in-law's camera.. but these still turned out pretty good!





She is getting to be such a big girl. Doug and I can't believe how much she has changed over just the past month. She makes us laugh on a daily basis and melts our hearts with her "love you, mommy" and "love you, daddy". We think we will keep her!! :)

Speaking of... guess who is awake? Gotta run... I'm on!
