SNOW!!

We finally got a significant amount of snow and ice the past couple of days! The kids enjoyed a full week off of school and we enjoyed snuggling in at home and playing outside. The wind and freezing rain sadly brought several trees down in our neighborhood and the city, but we are do fortuate that we never lost power and our home was unaffected.

It was a fun week, and we also look forward to things thawing out soon!!

Honor Band

Matthew was one of six students selected to represent Highland in the Beaverton School District Honor Band! Tonight was his concert. It has been a lot of hard work and a lot of fun...and I am so proud of all of these kids. They sounded amazing... especially our favorite trombone player!

Christmas 2024

 Christmas season was lovely and spent with both sides of the family. Saturday with the Morris family, Sunday with the Tierney-Harms family, and Sunday with just our family in the morning and more Morris family in the aftertoon. It was a joyful few days...

I honestly didn't take a lot of photos so I could be as present as possible, but we truly did have a lovely holiday.

Things Pondered Part 17

 Evelyn is 17 today. Every year I stand in awe that she can be another year older, and every year I stand in awe at the young lady she is becoming. 

This year she has learned to drive, learned to navigate changes and additions to friendships,  and learned how to get a job and do it well. She still is getting straight A's and works hard to be the best student and friend she can be. She is warming up to the idea of looking at colleges, but it seems overwhelming for her and she isn't quite ready to think about it yet. She loves her family, loves her silly cat, and loves Jesus. She makes us laugh and keeps us on our toes. We couldn't ask for a bigger blessing than our Evelyn Joy. 

She had a few friends over this past weekend to celebrate and enjoyed her time with them. 

You are a delight, dear Evelyn... may you see the good story the Lord is writing into your life this year!!

Matthew is 14!

Matthew is FOURTEEN today!!

Our lives would not be the same without our boy... and we love him more than words can say! He is so kind, big hearted, an encourager and a good friend. He loves football and playing his trombone, and is a straight A student. We are so proud of who is he becoming and know the Lord has great plans for him!

Here is a snipit of his day... 

He had some great friends over for pizza, games, a walk to see Christmas lights, and an epic game of laser tag in the basement. Thankful for such good friend for our boy and also thankful nothing was broken in the basement...haha!!

Christmas Cat

Bodie doesn't like it when his normal way of life is interrupted. At all. So Christmastime, when we get a tree and decorate... he really is out of sorts for a bit. 

But soon he settles in and tends to leave the tree alone (we still place non-breakable ornaments at the bottom of the tree because he still will sometimes play with them. Stinker.). He mostly just lays in the chair an stairs at it. 

 We sure do love the silly boy!!
