Beach Trip 2015 - Day 1

I think if you were to poll our little family, it would be unanimous that our annual beach trip is the highlight of our year most every year. Now, going to Disneyland in February was pretty amazing, and will certainly be the big highlight of this year. But our time at the beach, unwinding, putting our feet in the sand and being together is always such a special time.

Due to our big trip to the Happiest Place on Earth and other trips that used Doug's vacation time and depleted our vacation fund, our trip this year was just Thurs - Sunday. We all agreed that it was way too short and that we will from now on keep our full week plan, even if it means saying no to other things.

We arrived before our room was ready to we just headed to the beach to play until we were able to check in. We all enjoyed the sunny skies and salty air. Doug actually fell asleep for a bit in the sand.. and had a pretty good sunburn to prove it. Boo!

Happy to have their toes in the sand!
These three. Love them so much!
Silly willies... :)

So, it was my mother-in-law's birthday the day we arrived. I had texted her on our way to the beach, asking what she was doing on her day. Turns out her and Pa Kettle were coming to Lincoln City for dinner! They texted us when they arrived and we met them for such a lovely walk thru D River State Park and catch up time!

The kids found a cool "natural" fort! :)

  Selfie!

Lots of fun things to see!
So thankful for the time we got to spend with them!

After we checked in and had dinner, we went back to the beach for the evening.

This boy..... :)

Matthew found the coolest stick.. he calls it his spear!

Doug showing off his skills! :)

That first night we had a lovely sunset, and looked forward to what the next days would hold!
