Spring Break 2023

What fun spring break we had!!

Started it off by the kids having friends over Friday night. 

We did some catch up things the first part of the week but Wednesday we drove over to Boise to see my sis and family. Abby's 21st birthday was last week and we went over with a bunch of other family to celebrate my beloved niece. 

Stella and Sebastien... two of our fav furry friends. We loved seeing them both!

When I woke up the first morning there my sister had texted me from upstairs "look outside"

This is what I saw! SNOW!! 

The kids and I went for a walk, because snow! 

We went to our fav burger place in Boise, Wyld Child. So yummy!

We went to Top Golf for the first time...

We did our very first escape room. SO much fun..and we succeeded! 

Then it was time for the party!!

Trying on the birthday girl's crown and sash... oh, to be 21 again! 

There was karoake in the basement and everyone had fun participating and watching!

Family toast to Abby... so many aunts, uncles and cousins who I love so much!

Happy Birthday Abigail Michelle! I love you baby girl!

We left for home the next morning, thankful for our time with family. 

 Grateful for a fun spring break with the kids!

New Worship Gig

Evelyn started playing guitar when she was 8. She took lessons for a few years but has mostly taught herself since. Nick, the youth group worship leader at church, has been asking Evelyn to play guitar at youth group for a while now, but she hasn't felt ready to do that. 

This month she decided to go for it and played tonight on stage for the first time. 

She was a little nervous but did SO well. So proud of her stepping out of her comfort zone to serve in this way!

SNOW!!!!

 We had a surprise snow storm blow thru the past few days and had way more snow thanwe have had in a number of years. The kids got a few snow days and we had a fun time... even tho I wasn't prepared. We threw away their sleds last spring since they were worn out and neither kid had snow pants that fit. UGH!! We improvised and there was still much fun to be had.

The kids went up to Highland by themselves to see if they had friends there playing. The first time they've done that on a snow day. Bittersweet.. but I certainly enjoyed the warm house while they were gone...haha!

We made gluten free oreo snow ice cream and it was SO yummy!

Yay for snow days!!

Back to the Beach!

 

We went to the beach for President's Day weekend. The weather wasn't as great as we had hoped but we still had a great time being together away from the hubbub of life.

We went into Depoe Bay and decided to have lunch at the Sea Hag, a famour restaurant. It took FOREVER to get our food, and it wasn't all the great. We chose to just laugh at the experience and probably will never go back...haha!

We love long walks on the beach and going to expore the tide pools

...even if it's a wee bit windy!

We woke up to sun one morning and took advantage of it!

Movien night in the kids' room on our last night.
