Piano Recital

Matthew had his piano recital today. We are so proud of him and how much he has improved this first year of lessons.

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Doug!!

How fortunate these two kids are to have such a great dad!

Doug helped plan and run and Father's Day car show even at church. It was a HUGE hit!! Evelyn and Matthew were recruited to be "judges" and they each got to award their favorite cars with a trophy! :)

Last Day of School!!

We did it!! We survived another school year.. a school year in two different schools... and I am SO excited for summer!!!

As per the last couple of years, the kids were not exactly thrilled about "last day of school" photos. These are the best I got! :) 

Matthew has had a somewhat challenging year but continues to excel in math and in being a good friend. He is well liked by students and staff alike, and he has grown in confidence and height as well..haha!!

Thankful that Matthew enjoys walking to school (this is the first year) and has good friends to walk with him. Today it was Sam and Torren. 

The biggest blessing this year for Matthew was Mrs. Serrao, his teacher. She LOVES our boy and fought for him, encouraged him, challenged him and helped him in so many ways. We will always be thankful that Matthew was in her class!

These two. They survived their first year NOT being in school together. They won't admit it, but I know they missed that a little bit and were often were excited to see each other after school to chat about their days. Love them both so much!

The Stenejhem's came over to walk to school together this morning. Love these faces!!

I could not have asked for a better first year of middle school for Evelyn. She worked hard, played hard and was well liked by her teachers. She tries to avoid drama and keeps her close friends close. SO thankful for such a great year for her!

Per tradition, we had Ellie and Sam over after school. Matthew and Sam got home first, of course, so they were the first in the pool!

Mitchell's Graduation

Our nephew Mitchell graduated high school tonight!! We are so proud of him and were excited to be a part of his celebration. The kids came too, and it was their first time attending a graduation ceremony.

Last Football Game

Matthew's final game of the spring flag football season was today. For some reason only 5 boys from the team showed up to play (there are 10 boys total on the team). 5 players are on the field at at time. That meant that all 5 boys would play the ENTIRE game. They could have just forfeited the game, but instead, without hesitation, they got each other pumped up and ready to play. 

And they played their best game of the season!!

These particular boys were well behaved, disciplined and excited to play and do their best. If I am being honest, the other half of the team sometimes were really hard to coach and they didn't seem into it. So to see these boys work really hard and play together well and have so much fun was so amazing and inspiring to watch!

These are 5 tired boys who had the BEST time playing today!

Matthew definitely earned the red plate today!!

Thankfully 4 out of the 5 boys are going to play together again in the fall, and all of them can't wait to be together again!!

Thankful for a fun season of football for our boy!

Last 6th Grade Band Concert

Evelyn has loved being in band and playing the oboe this year. We are so proud her for working so hard and really improving on her skills as the year progressed. 

Tonight was the 6th grade band's final concert of the year. It was so wonderful to listen to them and see how much they have improved over the year as a whole.

Evelyn is excited about continuing to play the oboe and looking forward to being in band again next year. 

Aladdin

After Cars and Coffee (see last post), Doug left for the weekend and the kids and I had some fun things planned. Seeing Aladdin was at the top of our list!! We grabbed the Yoo kiddos and headed to see it at the theater

The movie did not disappoint and was SO good! Thankful to be able to see it and bring good friends along!!

Cars and Coffee

Doug left this afternoon to go DJ/Emcee an event near Salem. We decided to get some family time in before he left and went down to World of Speed to their "Cars and Coffee" event. It was a super fun time together!
