First band concert of the year was tonight and Matthew and the kids did SO amazing!

National Honor Society

 Evelyn applied to and was accepted into Southridge's chapter of the National Honor Society.

The induction ceremony was this evening.

Zach and Jaysea's Wedding

 

My nephew is married!!

Zach married Jaysea yesterday down in Salem and it was such a lovely day celebrating them and being together with family!

Halloween 2024

 

Happy Halloween!

This year Evelyn had a few friends over to watch movies and hang out, and Matthew went trick or treating with friends. Love that they both did their own thing and ok with Doug and I just staying home. 

It ended up being a quiet night with very few trick or treaters at our house, but I am really loving Halloween with big kids these days!

Each year the youth football program does a fundraising event, selling pies. The past 3 years Matthew has been the top seller and has always gotten a gift card. 

 I do a lot of the leg work with pie sales, which I don't mind, and Matthew is always grateful for that.  This year after he won he told me he wanted to take me to lunch with his money to thank me. I suggested Buffalo Wild Wings on a Sunday to watch football. It was a win for us both! We went today after church and had the best time, watching football games, eating good food and chatting about everything.

Football 2024

 This was Matthew's last season of youth football. 

His last game was last weekend. 

It hasn't been the best season. In, fact, it was hard. The boys lost every game, lost two key players to broken bones early in the season, and had the cards stacked against them every game.

But Matthew and most of these boys dug deep and kept showing up. They developed character and friendships thru this hard season. They laughed together, they cried together, kept playing hard together. Every week. 

I could not be more proud of our boy.

Good friend and co-captain Wayne. So grateful for the friendship these two share!

These four moms have been THRU it this season... watching your kids lose week after week is hard oun our hearts for sure. We've been together since 2nd grade... and look forward to doing high school ball life with them!

Bruce has coached Matthew since 3rd grade. He is a mentor and an amazing coach, and cares deeply for "his" boys. He made Matthew promise to keep in touch and I have no doubt he will be at games next year to cheer him on. We have been so fortunate to have had such amazing coaches these past 6 years. 

Matthew is looking forward to getting stronger in the off season and is also looking forward to high school football!
