Fourth of July Fun

Happy Birthday America!! For the 5th year in a row we headed down to one of our favorite places, Enchanted Forest. Doug and I have often wondered when the kids won't want to continue this tradition, and every year the kids keep wanting to go back!

The new Humpty!! A few days after we were there last year, someone did NOT obey the "do not climb" sign and actually broke Humpty and he took a huge fall and was pretty much destroyed! It was so sad, but after lots of hard work they put him back together again, much to our delight!
The Rabbit Hole.. always a fav. They don't fit as easy as they used to!
Love this one!

In the witch's mouth... gross! :)

She sits here every year...

Crooked House....

Love these three....

Peek-A-Boo!
This may be my favorite pic from the day!! I had yet to use the flash on my new camera. I thought I would try it while Evelyn and I were doing Challenge of Mondor. I couldn't have captured a better shot..we were focused! :)

Lots of shenanigans while waiting for the play to start!

It was entertaining and funny as always!
The water show is such a cathartic thing for me... I love it!

The Shoe Slide... our favorite place in the park!

The other slide is pretty fun too.....
Silly girls... :)

We hit all of our favorite spots and had lots of fun thanks to our kids who are super silly and love to laugh. While we had fun, it was obvious to us that it may be time to do something new next year on the 4th of  July. Who knows.. maybe the kids will want to go back. Either way, we will always have such fond memories of this amazing place!

After heading back to town we decided to stop at Cracker Barrel for dinner. It recently opened near us and we wanted to check out the hype and try it out.
The atmosphere is so fun and inviting (these rocking chairs and checker board out front were cute), the general store is so cool, but the food was pretty mediocre. It was fine... and we are glad we went, but probably won't go back much.

If you know our family, you know our kids aren't super fond of fireworks. They like to watch them, but don't like to listen to them or be too close. Doug has been buying fireworks to set off at home the past couple of years to try and get the kids over their fears.
The poppers are a favorite for Matthew!

Ready to watch... at a very safe distance...haha!
Sparkler time!

This is the calmest they have been with these yet. They usually freak out a bit.. we were proud of both of them!
The "grand finale" was fun and colorful, but super loud. The kids didn't like that too much but were good sports and were very silly about the whole thing.

Maybe someday we will take them to a real fireworks show. Then again, probably not!! HAHA!

Happy Fourth of July!
