Twelve. How can my baby girl be TWELVE!!
She is thriving in middle school and we can't be more thrilled.
She has good friends and is a good friend in return.
She continues to be creative, smart, sassy and oh, so funny!
She continues to add so much joy to our lives!
Evelyn's been talking about loft beds for the past few months. She's been looking online at them and we basically told her that it wasn't in the cards this year, as the ones she was looking at were super expensive.
But... secretly I also was looking around at loft beds for sale, hoping to find one
our budget. We ended up finding one a little over what we wanted to spend. But both Doug and I felt like it was worth it..she was worth it! :)
We set it up a fun scavenger hunt for her to wake up to in the morning, clues that would lead her to the shop. where the bed was all put together and waiting for her.

So... we put Matthew to work on the scavenger hunt. As soon as we heard Evelyn stirring, I went in and said Happy Birthday to her and quickly gave her the first "clue" and left. Then Doug and I headed to the shop. It was Matthew's job to take photos and as Evelyn found each new clue.
Let's just say he needs to work on his photo skills...haha!! He did a great job and the photos are hilarious!
He was supposed to get photos of ALL the clues but this is the only photo. Oh well... you get the idea!
The final clue on her scavenger hunt told her to go to the shop... Matthew grabbed a photo as she was heading in...
She was so happy!!
...to find her present! She was so excited!
We will take it down and re-set it up in her room tonight!

She went to bed in her loft bed and is super excited for the new look in her room. I totally forgot to get a photo before she went to bed... oops!
