Matthew in Action

It has been so fun to watch Matthew play football. The twinkle in his eye, the excitement on game day, the way he encourages his team mates and cheers them on... it is just so cool to watch!!

Bike Beaverton

Every year the City of Beaverton holds a "Bike Beaverton" event where you ride through our fine city. We have always wanted to do it, and since the kids are now riding their bikes like champs, we went ahead and signed up to do it!

We ran into Matthew's Physical Therapist, Orlando! We think he is pretty great and it was fun to see him there with his family!

There are 3 different levels of routes you could take. We chose the medium level route..about 6 miles. The kids did awesome and we had the best time riding through our great city!

Matthew's First Football Game

Matthew had his first ever football game today. To say he was excited would be a huge understatement. It was a chilly and early morning, but we all had  great time.

Matthew is playing with some of his best friends, including Owen. So thankful for good friends for my boy!

Mathew played quarterback most of the game, and we were honestly surprised just how good this kid can throw! He's got an arm on him! Proud of how well he played today for sure, and look forward to watching him grow this season!!

After the game we hurried home so we could make it to the Beaverton City Parade. We've been going to the parade for almost 10 years straight, so we were glad to not miss it!

AND the Ducks were on TV today, too. Matthew was so excited!

Needless to say, my sweet boy had a great day!

First Day of School 2017

Happy First Day of School!

Can I really have a second and fifth grader? ACK!

My big, sweet boy....

This is their last year going to the same school until they are 14 and 17!! Bittersweet for sure!

The Mayor was at school this morning!! SO cool! My big girl walked right up to him and said, "Good Morning, sir, I'm Evelyn!". So. Grown. Up. 

No walking Evelyn to class today... or ever again for that matter. Hard for me, but proud of her. She's ready and going to have the best last year of elementary school!

Matthew, on the other hand, still struggles saying goodbye on the first day. He was in tears but was brave and pulled it together. Proud of my sweet boy!

We grabbed some fro-yo after school and chatted about their day. Both kids really like their teachers and had fun stories about their first day of school. 

Hoping and praying for a year of fun, learning, and growth for both of them!
